I realize that I need an entry about Disney World - that will happen! But I'm on my way to bed and wanted to write about the move while it's fresh on my mind.
We really liked our last house, and I am too embarrassed to admit how many times we have moved in the past six years. It was always something; a smoker downstairs whose smoke was pestering us upstairs; space issues; this time it was our neighbor. We lived in half a double, so we shared one wall; and a very unhappy man lived next-door. It used to be him and his wife, and she passed away a couple months ago. He was always yelling, shouting, and banging on the wall for no apparent reason, or because Alex was just being a normal kid! Let alone if he had friends over.
Our landlord helped us a lot; and advocated for us. But at the end of the day, he owned his half of the house; and he is able to bang and yell in his own house as much as he wants (unfortunately!).
The house that we moved into is the first house that has really seemed like a "REAL HOME." The owners bought it when they first got married and lived here for seven years; and put a lot of work and love into it. It's the first time we've actually had color on the wall! Which doesn't seem like a big deal but it just adds a different energy to the home. Very exciting!
They had two daughters, so one bedroom was pink and one was purple. Maya took the pink room and Alex's room needed a makeover. I have never really painted before [aside from the kitchen painting project with Lisa Gerken! - but that was more painting CABINETS than walls!] so I was excited (and nervous) to take this on. It took about 3 days and I was proud of how it came out!

Halfway done:
Almost done:
Add the border - complete spiderman room! (as requested)
I was a proud mama! And this is Alex when he first saw the finished product. The picture came out blurry, but is still worth sharing!
Unfortunately as soon as we moved in Alex and I both got sick! I have laryngitis and have lost my voice and Alex has a terrible ear infection :( Tonight he asked, "When am I gonna be better?"
Me: "I think you'll feel a lot better tomorrow. The medicine you started today is going to start to work." Then I said, "I wish I could take your earache from you! And have it for myself. Then you wouldn't have to have it."
Alex: [nodding slowly] "..or we could give it to... to.... to..." [brow furrowed]
Me: "you wouldn't want to give it to anyone would you?"
Alex: "No."
Such a cute conversation. Love my boy!!!
